5 Replies to Burlington Coat Factory Stores: The Top 5 in Wisconsin, United States

  1. If you haven’t been there in a while, the first thing you’ll notice is that the inside of Burlington has changed. Even so, you’re still able to get some great deals. The checkout line can be a little long, but it moves along well. The staff is very nice. Overall, it was a good shopping experience.

  2. This store is overstuffed with merchandise, unlike the other Burlington stores in the Milwaukee area. The others have been remodeled and reduced in size with scarcely any merchandise.

  3. Store is very large with lots of items and good prices. Enjoyed shopping didn’t enjoy checking out. There was one checker and a huge line. Poor girl was working like a maniac trying to check out everyone.

  4. This store used to be one of the best ones in the area. It had a great selection and aisles of merchandise from baby strollers to winter coats etc. I was there 2 months ago and half of the store is gone. Merchandise has been cramped into tight spaces which makes it difficult to browse when other shoppers are there. It is dark and depressing, will not be back.

I walked in for the first time in years and was just appalled. I find myself asking the same question quite often in the post-pandemic era: What HAPPENED to this place?

What used to be a nice store to browse with clothing, shoes, household items, and seasonal display cases in well-ordered aisles now looks like a tornado-ravaged mess. (See my photos.) Shoes and clothing were flung onto the floor of every aisle. Wall decor was dumped onto the floor and scattered around like trash. Merchandise was tossed onto shelves as if it were a messy child’s room with random items everywhere. The district manager HAS to know about this because of the loss prevention personnel at the front of the store. Someone has to be keeping track of the merchandise flow, even if it’s all over the floor of the store.

This retailer wants to make sales, but they don’t have the desire to hire employees to stock, shelve, clean, or check-out. Rather than cut their profits to offer living wages to hire enough employees to run the store — or just close down the store — they simply don’t hire employees at all, so it’s a free-for-all on merchandise with two security guards to prevent people from just grabbing and running. What a mess.

It would be nice if the cashiers could do their job But they can’t holding up a very long line due to the excessive length of finger nails. There were 38 people standing in line behind me I counted. I stood in line for 36 minutes, and for the 13 items I purchased, it took her 13 minutes to do because her nails were in the way.

My daughter accidentally spilled her smoothie here and when I went to tell someone I believe her name was Mya (older, shorter woman) she made some rude comments right there in front of my daughter I couldn’t believe it. ‘Ugh great’ then when instructing another employee to go clean it, she made more comments similar, like ‘yeah this is just sweet’. Zero professionalism. The employee who was made to clean it was very nice about it, as was the cashier we dealt with. Shame they have such a poor leader my daughter was so sad

This place is an absolute mess. Absolutely no organization to the racks. The only staff I was able to locate were at the registers with a 30 minute wait. They were very friendly and talkative when I made it to the register. But I was definitely disappointed at the condition of the store. It was like throwing a bunch of stuff in a bin and saying here go shopping. I’ve been to many burlingtons this is the first one I’ve seen in this condition. If it was organized and easier to shop. I probably would have given five stars.

Well organized in sections. I liked that almost everything had the brand new tags on them along with the discounted price. I went very late so only one cashier was working which made the wait about 15 minutes to checkout. Overall it’s a nice place to get new clothes for 1/2 the price.
