  1. This store is the first ever Walmart that offers a local restaurant as an eatery in it and I’m so glad they do! Whuttle’s is the name of the restaurant and they offer in store dining as well as take out.

When we arrived at the store to get cookies my sister and I could smell the odor of BBQ when we got out of our rig but we couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. Imagine our surprise when we went inside and discovered that smell was from BBQ items being cooked for a restaurant in the store called Whuttle’s!

After we purchased our cookies from the excellent bakery this store has we headed back out and visited Whuttle’s in person. They offer an array of BBQ items and southern comfort food using their family recipes that is out of this world. The staff was very helpful, considerate and knowledgeable about the choices and we ended up getting an order to go.

We got their three meat combo and it was amazing. They were sold out of their daily special of BBQ salmon (can’t wait to go back and try it next time) so we got BBQ pulled pork, meatloaf and hotlinks with a double side of macaroni and cheese. The meatloaf was my sister’s favorite and couldn’t quit eating the hot links (despite not being a fan of hot foods). The pulled pork was also great but the uniqueness of the other two choices just overwhelmed us. The macaroni and cheese really complimented the meats and made it a meal that stuffed us both!

When I’m in Salem the Walmart I’m going to choose from now on is this location, and it’s strictly because of the fact that Whuttle’s has the best BBQ in town as far as I’m concerned 💕.

  2. I like going there for more than one reason you can pretty much do everything all in one shot food clothes pick up prescriptions cleaning supplies and and people are pretty nice and helpful

  3. I recently visited the Walmart Super Center in Salem, Oregon and was impressed by the store’s cleanliness and organization. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I was able to easily find everything I needed. The prices were also very reasonable, making it a great one-stop-shop for all my household needs. Overall, I highly recommend this Walmart location to anyone in the area.

  4. I do not enjoy leaving negative reviews about businesses as it potentially deters the company’s net revenue, however I’ve had too many negative experiences at this location as well as the turner road location. I can’t even sit outside in my car as my wife does our shopping without being treated as though I am loitering and/or trespassing by a security guard who’s presence is generally unnecessary rendering him bored with very little actual purpose in which case he resorts to harassing the establishment’s contributing patrons who are honestly minding their own business while they’re waiting in their vehicle for family members or eating their lunch they purchased inside or insert your own harmless scenario. The same thing has happened when we decided to save the environment and chose to walk to this location and I chose to wait outside and enjoy the weather while my wife made our purchases. I was told I’d only be allowed to “loiter” for up to 10 minutes when I said why I was present. How rude. I felt disrespected and violated after being treated as though I was lying. Poor customer service and overly aggressive security team who are most of the time not needed. They spend more time watching the parking area than they do watching their inventory. I now avoid all Walmarts in the Salem metro area unless something my family requires is only available at one of these stores. I’ll gladly pay more elsewhere and not have to be subjected to the unnecessary poor treatment as I spend my hard earned money.

  5. I have called to their electronics dept 7 times in a 2 hour span and no one answers. The past few days I have went in the store was a complete mess and could hardly walk down isles. They were moving stuff around during the day when they are most busy instead of prioritizing customers that are waiting in the horribly long check out lines (only 3 were avail).

Walmart has a good selection of things at low prices. This Walmart was pretty clean. I do prefer Winco for grocery shopping but Walmart has some things that Winco doesn’t. Specifically lower calorie options for certain foods and more options for things like deodorant, lotions, body care ect.

Its not what it used to be. But man were the employees helpful and nice. Its frustrating shopping when you have to pay for you items in different places in the store. Cosmetics, electronics, batteries…. etc. Then self checkout to finish your purchases. It used to be a nice shop for everything and stroll the isles and checkout once. I miss that. I didn’t find everything I needed. Not even close. A sign of the times with supply chain issues. The store was as clean as I can expect during these 2023 times. The homeless wondering outside and the upset customer’s with short tempers are a bit draining. But the staff was nice and smiled and its not there fault they didn’t have half of what I keep trying to find.

Big store, good selection, fair customer service but the clientele are doped up trailer trash losers who are rude, impatient, short tempered and often bizarre looking. If you don’t mind braving the store despite this fine but it’s not worth the savings in my opinion. I have young children and this isn’t a family friendly place to shop. Salemites you SUCK.

On Turner Road is absolutely horrible. Customer service is the worst. I have ever experienced in my life. I did my own check out today through their self check out with a broken foot and forgot my change of just under $15 at register number seven I called immediately and not one person could help me the customer service lady didn’t even know where I could find the register number on my receipts and told me she couldn’t leave customer service to find out if my change was there. I had to call a second time which then was acted like I completely put her out by trying to see if I had my change there before I turned around and went back to the store. I have my receipt I know I left my change at the self check out. There’s no doubt whatsoever and they didn’t even ask if they could look at the cameras and see if somebody else got it or anything. I am very disappointed and have already contacted their corporate office. Can’t help me who just spent hundreds in their store but walk around and literally watch thieves steal from them all day long. I will never shop at this Walmart ever again and I will make sure everybody knows about it.

Thought this Walmart was closing but it turns out they are not. They did have some good clearance items for sale. They had lots of food and lots of other items as it is a superstore. They had TVs for sale and water floating mats. They have some really yummy smelling candles. I will definitely be back and recommending the store to others.

Two employees were right next to the item I needed unlocked but refused to help me or any other customers. I waited for 15 minutes to receive assistance. Then they wouldn’t allow me to carry my $30 item to the front, leaving me to wait an additional ten minutes to pay.

I got there an hour till closing, so the aisles were slightly crowded with pallets, workers and fellow shoppers, but I managed to find exactly what I needed. Now I don’t have to smell like a dirty nut sack another day. Thanks for the free pants wal-mart. Oh, and they love to play Pokémon GO here, so if you’re an avid player as I am make sure to stop in every Tuesday, Thursday, and all weekend for the overnight Pokémon party’s! They get pretty crazy, I lost a sock last month!

It is always quick and easy shopping trips. Always have what I need..its the place I shop at for laundry soap dryer sheets.all cleaning supplies ..better deals than any where else ..the only thing I don’t like is the fact they never have paper bags or plastic bags..you have to buy their reusable bags for .75cents Why .so remember to bring your reusable shopping bags..otherwise you have to buy theirs cheapest one is 75cents.

I bought a portable AC unit online. The pickup process was easy and that’s the only positive thing I have to say. When I opened the box at home, it was clear they sold a very used unit. Nothing in the product description stated it was used. The filter was extremely dusty and dirty, there were strands of hair all throughout the box, the window adapter was sticky and the machine itself was wet. It was disgusting. Those problems can be resolved with some basic cleaning, but it’s absolutely unacceptable that they sold a used unit with missing pieces. Crucial parts for the hose attachment and window adapter were not in the box. Why aren’t they checking returned items before they re-sell them? It’s a ridiculous and unnecessary waste of everyone’s time for me to lug this 70 lb box down 3 flights of stairs, load it into my car, and into the store and have the employees process another return on this same unit. Whoever is in charge of this department and return process at this store is doing a horrible job. Disgusting and unacceptable are the 2 words that sum up my experience.

Walmart in Oregon: Do’s and Don’ts Every Shopper Should Know

When shopping at Walmart, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the rules and guidelines in order to have a pleasant and smooth experience. Understanding what is allowed and what is not will help you navigate the store effectively and avoid any potential issues.

Here are some rules to keep in mind while shopping at Walmart:

  • Respect the store’s hours: Make sure to check the store’s operating hours and plan your visit accordingly. Arriving too early or staying past closing time may disrupt the store’s routine.
  • Follow COVID-19 protocols: During the pandemic, it is crucial to adhere to any safety guidelines set by the store, such as wearing a mask, maintaining social distancing, and using hand sanitizers provided.
  • Bring your own bags: In an effort to reduce plastic waste, Walmart encourages customers to bring their own reusable bags. This helps in minimizing the environmental impact.
  • Use shopping carts responsibly: Be considerate of others by returning shopping carts to designated areas after use. Avoid leaving them in parking spaces or blocking walkways.
  • Observe parking regulations: Park your vehicle in designated spots and follow any parking rules enforced by the store. This includes avoiding parking in areas reserved for disabled or expectant mothers, unless eligible.

While these rules help in maintaining order and ensuring a pleasant shopping environment, there are also specific things that are generally not allowed or discouraged at Walmart:

  • Shoplifting or theft: Engaging in any form of theft or attempting to take merchandise without paying for it is strictly prohibited and against the law.
  • Disruptive behavior: Any behavior that disrupts the store’s operations or causes inconvenience to other shoppers, such as loud arguments or inappropriate language, is not tolerated.
  • Bringing pets, except service animals: While most Walmarts allow service animals, bringing pets into the store is generally not permitted, unless they are registered service animals.
  • Consuming food or drinks prior to paying: Eating or drinking items from the shelves before purchasing them can be considered theft. It is advised to pay for items first before consuming them.
  • Using photography or recording devices: Taking pictures or videos within the store premises might infringe on other customers’ privacy or violate store policies, so it is generally discouraged.

Following these rules while shopping at Walmart will ensure a positive experience for both yourself and other customers, maintaining a safe and respectful shopping environment.
